Lilian is an ordained church minister with over 20 years of experience in supporting individuals and families, particularly within Black and minority ethnic communities. As Chairperson Trustee of BYF, she guides our charity’s strategic direction to promote the mental wellbeing of young people and families.
Lilian believes in community-led, faith-rooted solutions to social challenges and strives to create a safe and inclusive environment for children and young people to thrive emotionally, culturally, and spiritually. She is passionate about her work and collaborating with our dedicated team to support BYF’s mission.

Risper Purity Murugi Perry
Risper brings a wealth of experience in finance and strategy, currently working in Strategic Finance with the Scottish Government. Originally from Kenya, she has a degree in Finance, Economics, and Sociology, and is a Chartered Accountant. Her connection to BYF is deeply personal. After facing challenges settling in Scotland, she found community and support through our Healthy Minds group. Since then, her younger siblings have also joined the BYF family.
As a trustee, Risper uses her skills in budgeting and reporting to strengthen our accountability and help secure funding for future growth. Risper is passionate about mental wellbeing, joyful living, and the power of therapy and coaching. She hopes to inspire and mentor young girls of colour as they navigate life in the UK.
