The Healthy Minds Programme is a collaboration designed to promote mental health awareness and wellbeing for parents, carers, and young people. Using NHS Healthy Minds resources, we provide a safe and supportive space where families learn, share, and grow together.
Evidence shows that individuals from ethnically diverse communities have a higher chance of facing mental health challenges, but often don’t get the help they need. Together with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC), we offer easy-to-access mental health support for parents and caregivers, creating resources that reflect a range of experiences, including the effects of racism.
We equip families with skills to manage emotional well-being, reduce stress, improve communication, and bridge cultural gaps. Many parents in our community come from Africa, while their children are growing up in the UK, which can sometimes lead to cultural misunderstandings. Healthy Minds aims to bridge this gap by promoting open conversations and fostering empathy.
